Working as a Welding Application Engineer

As a Welding Application Engineer you will work in our application laboratory and perform tests with our lasers. To ensure we offer the best possible solutions to our customers and to demonstrate feasibility you will assess potential applications of products and build mini applications based on customer requirements.

You will compose detailed and analytical reports to our customers to support their decision-making process. Showcasing our solutions to customers and partners as they come to visit us on-site at Tampere is also part of your work where you get to collaborate with various stakeholders. You will also get the chance to work together with our other application laboratories around the world.


What do you need to succeed in this role?

  • Experience from welding and expertise in the welding process is the most important factor in your success.
  • Analytical mindset, since creating reports on tests will also be one of your important tasks.
  • Systematic approach to carry out numerous tests successfully.
  • The ability to learn quickly and do hands-on work.
  • Experience from robotics or different programming languages will benefit you in this role.
  • Genuine interest in machines and devices combined with technology influencing the way the world will work in the future will make this role meaningful and exciting for you.

We will provide you with training for laser technology, so experience in laser welding is not mandatory.
